"body": "It's very much a Horizon ripoff. The story elements of a cycle of destruction. The robotic animals. Tribal humans using robot animal parts for their clothes. When it comes to aesthetic and backstory, it very much feels like a rip-off.\n\nHOWEVER...\n\nThe game itself does appear to be doing fun things the original Horizon games NEVER would allow for. Base building. Collecting robot animals. Manufacturing. Customizing your mounts.\n\nThe problem with plagiarism is trying to disguise someone else's work as your own. The problem with copyright infringement is trying to pretend you're someone else to steal from their success. \n\nWhat they're doing seems to be more in line with many games. It's VERY clear that it's extremely heavily inspired by Horizion, but also clearly NOT from that developer. It feels exactly like the kind of game they'd like to make if they had access to the IP, but a corporation owns it, so this is the next best thing.\n\nIt's a great thing for gaming and art in general. I personally am really excited to play this game."

"body": "You cant go mecha-animal without pulling at least a little from horizons monster design. Same way you cant make a monster hunter game with dinosaurs without a little pulling from og monster hunter. That said it is pretty blatant where they got the idea for this."

{
"body": "Dude, they have the exact same flowers and customs, its ripping off multiple things.\n\nStill looks fun if the other gameplay things are 70% of what they already showed"

"body": "If I was in charge of this game and I saw the \"Totally not Horizon\" concept art, I would have slapped the artist in the back of the head and told him to get back to the drawing board.\n\nIf your average gamer, the ones not looking stuff up on reddit, cant see the difference in the first 10 seconds betwen this and a Horizon DLC, marketing is going to have a hell of a time to climb that hill.\n\nNintendo had a struggle showing gamers the Wii U was a different console than a Wii, why the fuck would you not learn from that mistake and willingly pick the same art as Horizon?\n\nYou couldnt make the monsters aliens that you gathered their DNA parts to mix and match, crafting or whatever?\n\nYou couldnt make them have crystals come out of their body instead of metal?\n\nYou couldnt make them elemental, light or literally anything else?\n\nThe game is going to have a hell of a time to even be remembered and its all because the lead art is running around with pants on their head, while managment looks at the work and say \"Surely this will makes us stand out\" and approves it."

Damn, even Palworld got sued while not being nearly as similar.\n\nI guess it means it depends on the company—different companies, different levels of craziness, huh? Nintendo and Sony really seem to play by their own rules."
