Epic Games has rolled out a the first content update for Fortnite in the brand new year, and it’s much bigger than expected thanks to some iconic weapons returning to the main Battle Royale and Fortnite OG modes.With this new update, we officially have said goodbye to Winterfest 2024, along with all of the items that were brought with it. Battle Royale UpdatesWith today's update we have gotten some old items finally returning to Battle Royale, after much speculation and hope. The Kinetic Blade returns as the second blade added to Chapter 6 Season 1 for its Japanese Samurai theme. The sword had long been called for by the Fortnite community since its initial release in Chapter 4 season 2 and this feels the perfect opportunity to shake up the Typhoon Blade meta.You can obtain the Kinetic Blade in BR matches from floor loot, on Katana Stands, and inside chests. It can only be found in Epic Rarity.The Lock On Pistol, which first appeared in Chapter 4 Season 2, is a fast-firing, semi-automatic Hitscan weapon. It features a unique tracking system activated when aiming down sights, marking targets within 50 meters. It fires up to 4 locked-on bullets, with the 4th always landing as a critical hit.You can obtain the Lock On Pistol in BR matches from floor loot, by fishing, and inside chests. It can be found in just the Rare Rarity.First introduced in Chapter 3 Season 1, the Ranger Assault Rifle is a slow-firing, fully automatic weapon known for its precision and steady handling. You can obtain the Ranger Assault Rifle in BR matches from floor loot, by fishing, and inside chests. It can be found in six different Rarities: Uncommon, Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic (Shogun X).All Fortnite Winterfest items like icy feet, peppermints, presents, and blizzard grenades.The Fortnite Battle Royale map, however, is still mostly covered with ice. We can except the map to return to normal following net week's update. Fortnite OG and Reload UpdatesUnlike Battle Royale changes, those in OG and Reload gamemodes were very minor, introducing few new items and changes, but we have you covered with everything new. In reload, some new DMRs have been added to the gamemodes. In the OG gamemode, the Suppressed SMG has returned in preparation for the OG Season 2 mode starting in February. Epic’s update is set to deliver the season’s biggest collaboration yet, originally teased in the Hunters season trailer, Godzilla and King Kong are set to have an epic in-game showdown.
