Questions about mobile data plan for tourists

Hi! Me and my parents are going to New York for a month this year, and I think its easy to roam around NY streets with google map guiding us so I plan to get a mobile data. I saw T-mobile's $30 data plan for tourists, which seems to be the most cost effective. However, our trip itinerary is this:



Days 1 to 5: Touring around New York



Days 6 to 11: Travelling around Illinois



Days 12 to 14: Back at New York



Days 15 to 20: Travelling to Massachusetts



Day 21 to 24: Back at New York again



So, I'd like to ask for your opinions whether to get the T-mobile tourist plan or is there any other more cost-effective mobile plan for us? :)



Also, there is a statement in T-mobile's site about tourist plan that:



"Domestic data roaming occurs when you travel outside of T-Mobile's network coverage. Your talk and text will remain unlimited and will use another carrier’s network. However, your data bucket will be limited to 200 MB. You'll receive a text notification when you near this limit."



So, if I do get the T-mobile plan and travel outside NY, my data bucket will be limited to 200 MB, right? :) What happens if I return back to NY, do I get back my 2GB data bucket? :)
