"selftext": "The game installed without an issue. When I go to launch it, it says \"running install script\" and never launches. What's the fix?\n\nEdit: deleted the install script vdf in the game's tool folder so now it doesn't get stuck on that anymore, but it gets stuck on the Helldivers II popup that comes up right after it tries to install nProtect.",

"body": "I know I am super late, but I have been having this problem recently, and I found a really easy fix for this. \n\nIn steam, go to \n\n-settings\n-downloads\n-half way down, clear cashe. \n\nIt will restart steam and clear up any issues. I have had this “running install script” on other games besides helldivers as well, and it always works",

"body": "I still can't get it to work as well. However, I have a 2nd pc and the game runs just fine there. My main pc has much more compared to my vr pc so it must have something that it doesn't like. I've tried a lot of different things as well and the game doesn't run still.",

"body": "Same. I ran it on my Ally from my home network and there were no issues. I don’t get it though because my Windows installation is fresh on my PC and there’s basically nothing on it, still no luck. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled on different drives to no avail.",

"body": "Hey! So my friend helped me get it working. So, if you’re not launching from Steam, try to launch from the actual .exe file in your file directories. It’s somewhere around steamapps>common>programfilesx86 (or something like that) and see what error pops up when you try and launch. \nIf it’s the MSVCR110.dll, Google it up, and lots of the Microsoft forums have ppl telling you to get these C++ redistribute things. \n \nI wish I could remember more cause my friend did most the work, but we got those C++ things I was missing… you run them and hit “repair” and I didn’t even have to get the MSVCR file, and it worked!! \n \nGood luck!"

"body": "Since none of the other solutions worked for me, I found another workaround.\n\nWhat works for me is when it gets stuck, I put my PC in sleep/power saving mode and once it \"turned off\" turning it back on, and HD2 starts automatically. (go into sleep mode while its still trying to run the script)\n\nAfterwards whenever I want to start the Game I run into Error 114, to fix this I have to check the game files, after which it will get stuck on the script again so repeat the above.",

"body": "If you right click the game in steam and click properties and then go to installed files you can check the integrity of your games files and it will automatically fix any broken or missing files"

Currently looks like a match for [this](https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198132822994/recommended/553850?snr=1_5_9__402) steam review. \n\nGame won't launch because GameGuard needs to update/check and it's being blocked. Disabling firewalls on PC does nothing, disabling firewalls on network does nothing. Connecting via a different network works but you'll have to do it every time.\n\nThe review will explain it better than I can.\n\nIt looks like [Arrowhead is aware of the issue](https://arrowhead.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12573380356508-Known-issues#:~:text=Game%20launch%20failing%20due%20to%20GameGuard%20errors) and are working with GG to figure out a fix but it looks like we have to wait it out for now unfortunately.",

"body": "I had to manually go in and allow the programs (helldivers and nprotect) through the private and public firewalls in the firewall settings. Worked for me… still get some issues but it’s been working “better”",

"body": "WHAT WORKED FOR ME: i set the game to run as admin, updated drivers, and THEN checked windows update. "body": "I have an official fix for this.\n\nGo to the Properties / Settings on Steam for HellDivers2, go to Installed Files, click on Browse.\n\nD:\\\\SteamLibrary\\\\steamapps\\\\common\\\\Helldivers 2\n\nThat's where you should be.\n\nAfterwards go to bin or D:\\\\SteamLibrary\\\\steamapps\\\\common\\\\Helldivers 2\\\\bin\n\nDelete the GameGuard folder.\n\nRun helldivers2.exe as an admin.\n\nIf it asks you to run on Steam, click No.\n\nEnjoy Helldiving Gentlemen.",

"body": "Well after everything, for whatever reason, this worked. Not sure if it’s the exact order of operations (since I’ve tried deleting that folder and launching the game, but through Steam w/ admin rights) or what, but the game finally launched. Thank you. So i guess deleting that folder then launching outside of Steam is the ticket.",

I believe it's reinstating and skipping the admin rights and installation process for the script that's needed to run for the game to function, by bypassing steam you're in result bypassing that error, which should work through steam from there on out, glad to see that works."
