I can say that Snap is very fun, very well designed, but can be frustrating if you get hung up trying to follow the meta and climb to infinity each season. Felt more like a chore that pressured you to pay (not a ton, the monetization is pretty reasonable unless you wanna go full “unlock everything” which really isn’t necessary even if you’re trying to be competitive) so I stopped",

I swear as much as I love YouTube gaming/twitch they also ruin gaming in some aspects\n\nNot more than a few days after release a flood of meta decks, “use THESE moves to win “, trash cards etc type videos appeared and sure enough everyone was running the same things.\n\nMeta has always existed I just feel like people used to play more for themselves before"

It’s far from perfect but it’s been made more F2P friendly over the last year or so, with increased currency payouts, events and reworks of older characters. \n\n\nHaving said that, if you are wanting to stay competitive with the game it’s still heavily skewed towards P2P."

"body": "I’m a fan of Future Fight and have been playing for years now. For me now, at least, it’s gotten to a point to where I just login to get the rewards and log off lol and that’s rarely at this point. It’s a fun game, though. Especially getting all the different types of characters and there’s a lot of updates to it. I will admit, I’ve spent about $200 on the game, but that’s also been over the span of about 8 years. It’s nice bc if you wanna control the characters, you can play or there’s an option for auto play for us lazies. Think of it more like Marvel: Ultimate Alliance type stuff."

"body": "Contest of Champions is my pick. \n\nIm not too big on turn-based combat (that rules out strike force) and I don’t care for the style of puzzle games used in Snap. Future Fight could’ve been cool but it is one of the blandest top-down fighters I’ve ever played.\n\nIf they still had that Spider-Man runner on the App Store, I’d probably choose that.",

"body": "Marvel Snap is not a puzzle game. It’s a turn-based PVP card battler. It’s quick paced, and got great animation, sound design and can be enjoyed F2P. Things take time, but there isn’t a hard pay wall. \n\nI played pretty consistently for a year. They update and balance the game often, they add new cards weekly. There’s a lot to enjoy.\n\nEdit: the leads on the game was a designer from Hearthstone\n\nOp: if you want to play this type of game, it’s a card battler, champions is a fighting game",

"body": "I’ll throw out an unpopular opinion and say I really like strike force. It demonstrates many of the predatory practices that a f2p big name ip has, but if you don’t care about being the top of the leaderboards and have patience it’s a pretty fun game. Essentially I log in once a day, play around with some of my favorite marvel characters/teams, chat with guildies and strategize on raids and then log off. \n\nIt’s also much better than it used to be in terms of letting us f2p use the new characters in a more timely manner and more importantly it has way less screen time required than previously. That was always my biggest issue the amount of time you needed to play per day just to clear out your dailies. With the new streak skip features, it’s much better. Just know going in that you’re going to be in for a serious grind and progress can be extremely slow at times, but if you like marvel and turn based games it’s in a pretty good state."
