"body": "There is limitless potential but Marvel haven't truly given a shit about their video games in the past. They shut down Marvel Heroes/Omega, and Marvel's Avengers never made a single one of its deadlines in the couple of years it was up.\n\nI want it to be good, but I'm skeptical.",

"body": "Tbf, marvel has struggled to put out any good ones. I can't speak for Marvel Heroes as im not knowledgeable on it. But Avengers wasn't exactly good, so its not surprising that Square Enix wasn't meeting deadlines imo, I imagine resources were diverted elsewhere that could actually be profitable. \n\nMarvel's best products lately are single player games, and mobile games. And all the mobile games seem to get a decent bit of support, I mean Marvel Snap has been consistently been dropping 4 new cards a month. And with everything I see about other ones, seems their content seems fine too. As long as its received well, I think itll be fine",

"body": "Yep. Plus they wanted to focus on their up and upcoming games as a service product, which I can only assume ended up being Avengers."

"body": "Its very unlikely that it will directly be objectively better than overwatch when it launches but it doesnt need to be and can grow into the better game with time. \nBeing a fun alternative set in the marvel universe could be enough to be successful anyways. \nThere are a lot of players that want to play something like overwatch but dont want to play overwatch anymore."

"body": "My concern is this game is going to make all the mistakes and recreate all the problems OW had to deal with instead of learning from OW and avoiding those issues entirely.\n\n2/2/2 team comps is going to make finding groups with a (unconfirmed but I expect will be announced one day) role lock feature take forever to connect you to games. The confirmed hero ban system is going to cause people to leave or throw because they can’t play the hero they want. Tanks often do pool noodle levels of damage and can be ignored. Hitscan vs projectile hero is going to be an endless balancing act (when literally everything could have been made projectile based to help an avoid all this). Groot has four shield walls to break through. Hulk can’t do much as a dive tank without the rest of his team also being dive heroes and without 100% impeccable focus fire on the healers. Adam Warlock has team resurrect. Healers and mobile AOE heal ultimates prevent people from dying at all. CC is on so many characters and chainable. Team-ups and seasonal damage bonuses will take certain heroes over the top. Spider-Man’s animation cancelling synergy is going to cause him and other heroes like him to be constantly rebalanced due to the wide swings in performance. And so on.\n\nThe hero design is fun and iconic. But these issues are going to suck to have to deal with all over again."
