He seems to get 130FPS at 1080P\n\nWhat I've noticed on my end is even if I turn settings down to low my FPS seems to cap. Even with everything maxed out on my rig, 5800X3D w/7900XT, I tend to get 80 -103FPS at 1440P.\n\nThe reason why I say it's a CPU bottleneck is because it seems to use between 6 and 8 threads. Turning down graphical options has minimal impact on performance so if it was a GPU bottleneck turning those options down should have a much greater impact... also the GPU usage would hit 100% and not stop at 90% if it was a GPU bottleneck.\n\nA short explanation is CPU usage % isn't an accurate way to see if something is CPU bottlenecked. Back in the day with single core CPUs it was. Now days we have multi-core/multi-threaded CPUs. Programs and games can be programmed to run on one thread or as many as you can throw at it. This game appears to have a max number of threads which is why on higher end CPUs like your's with a larger number of cores/threads it shows up as 30% vs my older 5800X3D, 8 core/16 thread CPU, which shows 50ish % usage.",

Currently no matter what I do to the settings, my CPU is maxed out with basically nothing running in the background. If you can upgrade the CPU it'll run halfway decent in 1080p",

Although it is thought that some of the latest Intel generations degrade faster due to their high heat output.\n\n\nHowever you don't have to worry that a single game will break your CPU.\n\n\nEdit: you probably have a bottleneck at 100% cpu usage tho. Maybe close background programs and lower some CPU intensive settings."

"body": "I followed this guide to disable HPET and swap my cpu over to a different timer manually. I did not run the edit to disable dynamic tick since I am on a laptop, it generates more heat. I checked fps between each step, hpet did the most for my 12900H. Brought me down from 92c max to 75c max (at a limited 50w). I then optimized using the settings in this reddit. I was at about 38fps native, followed this guide and got to about 55, then the reddit settings pushed me to 65, finally I OC'd my gpu (since I had more temp headroom from lowering my cpu workload, was able to push my 3070ti another 305mhz core and 515mhz mem core ) and I'm at about 75-80 native now. All measured from the destroyer window. I'm confident I will see the usually 20fps drops in game, but we'll see. \n\n\nHow to disable HPET:\n\n1. Open Command Prompt as Admin\n\n2. Insert these Commands:\nbcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock\nbcdedit /set useplatformtick yes\nbcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes\nbcdedit /set tscsyncpolicy enhanced\n\n3. Exit out of Command Prompt\n\n4. Open Device Manager and disable \"High Precision Event Timer\"\n\n5. Restart PC"
