"selftext": "Edit Jan 8th 2025: I wanted to add for those that come to this post. Since I limited my FPS to 60 Background and Max Frame Rates, I can run the game in all ultra settings with no issues. I believe some optimizations have been implemented since my first post and I have been able to play a lot more steady with everything set to max with my 3090. \n\n \nI would recommend trying to change max FPS to 60 first and enjoy the Democracy in all its glory! Do it at the driver level and NOT in game. In game, leave the FPS limiter off. \n\n \nOriginal Post: \n\n \n\\---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n\n**Salute to you Helldivers!**\n\nI put this together for my squad mates after scouring the interwebs for settings and options, especially since I crashed a bunch on my PC with HD2 initally. A LOT. I rarely crash now, if at all.\n\nMy Specs for reference:\n\ni9 11900k\n\nMSI Gaming Trio 3090\n\n32 gigs 4266DDr4\n\nThese are the main **IN GAME** options I use to help keep Quality and Performance where I like it :) if you don't see an option here listed, then I assumed you can change it to what you like based on preference.\n\n***Gameplay:***\n\n**Crossplay**: **On** or **Off** \\- haven't seen a diff, but off if you have issues\n\n**Window Notifications: Off**\n\n**Allow Data Collection: Off**\n\n***Display***:\n\n**Camera Shake: Off**\n\n**Vertical Field of View:** Max at 90 for best view\n\n**Render Scale: Native** offers best GPU/CPU lowered usage but best visuals - **SuperSampling** if you want it about the same but higher usage\n\n**Framerate Limit: SET TO OFF** \\- change in other places\n\n**Vsync: Off**\n\n***Graphics:***\n\n**Motion Blur: Off**\n\n**Dept of Field: Off**\n\n**Bloom: Off**\n\n**Sharpness**: I have mine at **0.20**\n\n**Texture Quality: Ultra**\n\n**Obj Detail Quality: High**\n\n**Render Distance: Ultra**\n\n**Shadow Quality: High**\n\n**Particle Quality: High**\n\n**Reflection Quality: High**\n\n**Space Quality: Off** for better FPS - **On** for prettier skies\n\n**Ambient Occlusion: On**\n\n**Screen-Space Global Illumination: Off**\n\n**Vegetation and Rubble Density: Lowest**\n\n**Terrain Quality: High**\n\n**Volumetric Fog Quality: Lowest** or **Highest**… best options no in between\n\n**Volumetric Clouds Quality:** **Lowest** or **Highest**… best options no in between\n\n**Lighting Quality: Med** or **High**\n\n**Anti-Aliasing: On** unless you have problems then set to **Off** but you will see jagged edges\n\nThese next options are in the NVidia Control Panel. An application outside of the game. Make these changes when the game is closed. Sorry, I don't know the equivalent settings for AMD.\n\n[I set it to 61 fps limit to run the smoothest and lowest temps](https://preview.redd.it/tly4vjyj2krc1.png?width=485&format=png&auto=webp&s=bd6fd6927fc60b11be152c8ce5dc0550e61a2ca3)\n\nI limit the FPS in the Foreground and Background to 61. I like seeing it sit at 60 fps :) but you can definitely set it to what you prefer. I noticed the game funs smooth at 60fps, so personal preference if you want to go higher but your CPU/GPU usage/heat output will go higher.\n\nI have **VSync** enabled here because I noticed screen tearing in game, this helped fix that. also enabling Ultra Low Latency along with Trip Buff helps a bunch with VSync on.\n\nUsing HWinfo64 I monitored my CPU/GPU usage and temps.\n\n***While idle on my ship:***\n\n**CPU** would sit around 50% Max usage while each core dropped to 20ish% with the max at 50%, temps would sit around 52c\n\n**GPU** would sit around 46% GPU Core load while sitting at 66c\n\n***While loading or in a Mission:***\n\n**CPU** while in game would jump up to 95% usage for a second then drop down to around 70% with the temp max at 75.5 but drops down to the high 60s while in mission\n\n**GPU Core load** would jump up to 95% for a second, then sit around 70ish percent during a mission. Temp would jump as high as 75c on the GPU\n\n[He never smiles at my antics](https://preview.redd.it/ypgc6zbm2krc1.png?width=1640&format=png&auto=webp&s=e8fc571fe7917228b8009964973ef733645d2700)\n\nI hope this helps someone out there! My Democracy Spreading has been smooth sailing since I changed these settings! I hope they work for you too, Helldivers!",

"body": "Interesting, I will take a look at your settings.\n\nI had a problem with stutters. Especially when quickly turning around. Didn't matter if there was lots of enemies and action going on or not. The steam fps counter was showing 100-115 fps but it still stuttered.\n\nWhat helped for me was to turn off vsync and fps limiter from the game and use Rivatuner to set max fps to 80. Now it runs butter smooth and lower temperatures as well. I think I could even set it bit higher than 80."
