"title": "Helldivers 2 pc performance",
"selftext": "So i’m enjoying helldivers 2 a lot but the performance on my rig (rtx 3070, i7 9700k, 16gb ddr4, 500gb ssd) isnt great to say the least. Playing on about 45-60 fps average with some drops going even lower. (Settings all on lowest, and scaling on quality). Im wondering if my ram could be the key factor for it not running as well as it should. If anyone would care to help a lad out it would be much appreciated.\n",

Bloom, depth of field and motion blur disabled. \n\nMake sure all drivers are up to date, check you CPU load and temps during gameplay.",

"body": "Honestly don't know. The only thing on low I have is Space Quality. I feel like the game isn't balanced well, so performance may vary a lot depending on certain config, not necessarily correlate with power.\n\nOne thing I can say for sure is I have good cooling, even on full loads nothing gets above 70 degrees.\n\nWhen on destroyer FPS is around 80, on missions it's usually around 60. With drops sometimes during orbital strikes (only sometimes though).",

{
"body": "Yes, to around 50 sometimes. With a variable refresh rate I find it to be not that big of a problem. Most of the mission it's 60-80, on the ship it's around 80. \n\nOne thing though, I almost never host. I don't know, maybe hosting loads CPU more and impacts performance. Yesterday upgraded to 7600 and it seems like it doesn't drop as low as before now.",

{
"body": "In my case both CPU and GPU stay just below 70 degrees celcius. I would be concerned only if it goes above 80, as that may mean not optimal airflow/cooler. Real concern when it approaches 90.\n\nP.S. That's during typical gaming loads, like Helldivers, with FPS limit at 120 (never reaches it though)"

Your rig is the same as mine except I run a 12700k.\n\nI'm currently getting 65-75fps on high settings at 4k (quality dlss) so it sounds like something is off with your build.\n\nI'd try the following...\n\n.Nvidia driver update (would assume you've done this already\n\n.MSI afterburner (if installed) make sure it's not running a weird undervolt setting or something (had this on mine and was costing me 20fps\nYou could also add a mild OC (+150 CORE & +650 MEMORY) whilst you're here \n\n.verify files on steam (probably won't do anything, but worth a shot)\n\n.check BOTH CPU and GPU temps to ensure that these aren't overheating and causing throttling\n\nUnfortunately, I think your bottleneck may be your CPU, but hopefully you can get a few FPS back with the above 🤞",
