I've read and heard that some games have a smooth gameplay. I'm interested in what contributes to that smooth gameplay. Also, how important is it to have that smoothness? For example, in a game I am presently developing, certain actions start out "locked". As you play, you can unlock these actions.
## Comments
- **Commenter 1:** I think smooth gameplay is essential for keeping players engaged. If the flow of the game is interrupted too often, it can lead to frustration.
- **Commenter 2:** Agreed! One of the biggest turn-offs for me in any game is when the mechanics don't feel intuitive or when there are too many rules to remember.
- **Commenter 3:** Sometimes a bit of complexity can add depth to a game, but it’s always a balance. A game that is too complicated can become tedious.
- **Commenter 4:** In my experience, playtesting is crucial. The more feedback you can gather, the better you can identify what maintains smooth gameplay.
