How important is meeting the CPU requirement for this game?

According to SystemRequirementsLab, my PC does not meet the minimum or recommended specifications that are needed to run this game.  The only problem is my CPU.  My computer is quite old now at this point (possibly coming up on 10 years?) and while I've upgraded and changed a few things along the way, I never replaced the motherboard or CPU.So I am on an Intel I7-4770.  Elden Ring cites a minimum requirement of a Intel i5-8400 or recommended i7-8700.  How much of a difference is there actually between a 4770 and 8400?  --Also, Total War Warhammer 3 just released this year as well, but that game (even on SystemRequirementsLab) has a less specific CPU recommendation.  It just says intel i3 / Ryzen 3 series or Intel i5 / Ryzen 5.  Doesn't say anything about what generation i3 or i5 is required.  As such, my PC met the minimum and recommended requirements for the game and I was able to run it quite smoothly when I played it.
