Many people want to get closer to the world of PC gaming by buying a PC that will allow them to play Minecraft without problems. But the question many people are asking is: what requirements should my PC have in order to play Minecraft smoothly in 2023?
For convenience, I have divided the various requirements into 8 categories for different purposes.Clearly in the Cpu and Gpu sections I also mean their AMD counterparts.
I want to play Minecraft smoothly
Cpu: i5 7600 or Gpu integrated into the processor
Gpu: Nvidia GeForce Gt 710
Ram: 8Gb DDR4
I want to play Minecraft fluently
Cpu: i5 8600
Gpu: Nvidia GeForce Gt 1030
Ram 8Gb DDR4
I want to play Minecraft in high quality (1920x1080)
Cpu: i5 9600
Gpu: Nvidia GeForce Gtx 1080 or 1650 Super
Ram: 8Gb DDR4
I want to play Minecraft in high quality (2560x1440)
Cpu: i7 10700k or i5 11600k
Gpu: Nvidia GeForce Rtx 2070 or 3060
Ram: 16Gb DDR4
I want to play Minecraft in high quality (3840x2160)
Cpu: i7 12700k
Gpu: Nvidia GeForce Rtx 2080 Ti or 3070
Ram: 16Gb DDR4
I want to play Minecraft without any restrictions (1920x1080)
Cpu: i5 11600
Gpu: Nvidia GeForce Rtx 2060 Super or 3050
Ram: 16Gb DDR4
I want to play Minecraft without any restrictions (2560x1440)
Cpu: i7 12700k or i5 13600k
Gpu: Nvidia GeForce Rtx 2080 Ti or 3070
Ram 16Gb DDR5
I want to play Minecraft without any restrictions (3860x2140)
Cpu: i5 13600k or i9 12900k
Gpu: Nvidia GeForce Rtx 3080
Ram: 32Gb DDR5

sir i do not need a 3060 to run minecraft in 1440p
my i5-3470 integrated gpu runs minecraft at 1440p at 40fps, I slap my gpu back in there and it's 100+ frames. 12gb of ddr3.
i don't need ddr5 to run a block game
this is so wrong
i have no idea where you got these numbers from, but you are acting like Minecraft is battlefield, which it isn't. This **** runs on a potato. You don't need to buy a multi-hundred dollar processor to run the game smoothly.
A mobile 1070 and i7-7th gen with 16gb of ram 1080p gets 1500 fps on 1.8, and 300+ on 1.19 without much tweaking of mods.
An i5-3470 with R7 360 (weaker than GTX 285) runs 1.8.9 at 500 fps at 1080p, and gets 300+ fps on 1.16 with a slightly optimized config but no graphical sacrifices.
An integrated i5-3470 gpu with slow ass ram runs 1.8.9 at 70 fps at 1440p.

pls don't get these cpu/gpu parts in 2023, they are very old and support is most likely discontinued or near ending.
8gb ddr4 is the minimum for a gaming/work pc nowadays
I want to play Minecraft without any restrictions (1920x1080)

overspeccing for the most part, ddr4 is good enough.
also wrong suggestions: i5 11600 doesn't work with ddr5 afaik.
3070 for block game at 1440p is defo overspec unless you want like 360 fps for your godly 360Hz (does this exist?) monitor.
what requirements should my PC have in order to play Minecraft smoothly in 2023
with all that said,
assuming just normal hypixel multiplayer games and some occasional survival, 8gb of ddr4 (or 16) should be enough, throw in a ryzen 3rd gen or later or an intel 10th/12th/13th gen (11th is weird), plus a GPU that's from 2017 or later should work. mc is really not hard on gpu if you don't have an insane texture pack/shaders.
if you have shaders get more ram and get a better gpu (20x or 30x nvidia; 4 digit amd gpus) and it should be ok.
if you play on a 4k screen or a screen with more than 120 fps also follow what is said above (considering you'll probs play other games than mc it's best to leave some overhead space)

I have a laptop with an i7-6600U, 12 GB ram, and Intel HD 520 Graphics. I get 300fps staring into the sky, 200fps in skywars and bedwars near the sky, and 110+ everywhere else (except for skyblock)

What is your opinion on the current prices of graphic cards? Like I'm hesitating between a 2080 ti, a 3080 and a 4080, for 1440p with no limit
Like a 3080 would be better than 2080 for upcoming games in the next years, but god it's 900 dollars there in France

As an Italian I can understand you for the price, I don't know how much is your budget but 2080 ti at today I think it still has a couple of years in front of it before becoming obsolete, and you can find used for less than 500 Euro, which is much more advantageous than getting 3080 (1000 Euro if you want something really good) or 4080 which for the price it has (1500 Euro for good quality) is a card I don't recommend you to get at today, so I think 2080 ti if you don't want to sell a kidney at today is the best option if you just want to play games on pc.

intel integrated graphics outclass the gt 710

Probably better to leave it up the the actual developers to give recommended specifications. Most of these parts are not good/smart options to buy in 2023 especially if you're keeping the future in mind. As all as most of these parts are not required to run in 'high quality 1080p' or 14400, ect... also not a good idea to recommend users to buy hardware from 2014 whereas most modern integrated gpus outclassed the gt710 and in a lot of cases, the gt 1030. This becomes an issue as more developers will cut support from these older gpus (many already have) as they are becoming the minority in gaming. I would recommend you do more extensive research before you make any more threads like this to prevent the spreading of false and potentially harmful information (harmful as in poor recommendations). Overall, minecraft is not a demanding game by any means. Most computers are capable of running minecraft at desirable frames (depends on the user).

do not get the 4080
if you want a 40s series gpu then i can only recommend the 4090 but in all honesty you dont need a 4080 at all, its a big waste of money

They stopped producing the 4080 and released the 4070Ti instead
For an actually pretty good price compared to 30**s

why would anyone need 32gb of ram to play mc most of the time you wont need to allocate more than 4gb i have even gotten modpacks with 100-150 mods to run smoothly with 2gb of ddr3 allocated

Ram: 16Gb DDR4
i bought a prebuilt from alien ware (dont harp on me) and a few weeks after i bought it there was like a 500$ discount.. sadge.

Yea as soon as dedicated GPUs starting to crop up I become confused
As soon as they started costing more than 150 USD, I become very confused.
Now sure, if you are trying to run super intensive shaders or something, yea I would agree, but the thread doesnt mention that at all. Vanilla mc could run on a potato indeed.
Hell, my old win xp with half a gig of ram, single core 1.something ghz cpu was able to run minecraft at 720p at 20-30 fps
