Each character has their own unique mechanics that can be utilized to increase their efficiency in combat. These exclusive abilities are usually used in combination of their Normal Attacks, Resonance Skills, or Resonance Liberations.

Fully knowing a character's skill set and role allows you to perform effective combos and easily decide who to send in depending on the situation.

Combat System Guide



Based on the trailers have shown so far, it seems like dodging and parrying are essential in this action-packed combat system.

There is no official information about the benefits of Extreme Evasions (or perfect dodging), but Parrying has been shown to stagger the attacking enemy for a short period.

Characters also have different Intro and Outro skills that can be triggered when switching in and switching out from the battlefield, respectively.

Triggering these skills when swapping between characters requires a full Resonance Energy gauge. Learn the effects of each character's Intro and Outro skills and plan your rotation before sending them to battle!



Defeating enemies in the field may give you a chance to capture them and use their abilities as Echoes. Equipping Echoes allows Resonants to use their unique abilities and stat bonuses. Having the Echoes of the same element can activate Sonata Effects, providing more bonuses for characters.

Players will increase their Union Level as they progress through the game's story, open various Supply Chests, and defeat various monsters all around Solaris-3. Keep raising your Union Level to increase the difficulty, and get better chances at rare enemies and materials!

How to Increase Union Level



The world of Wuthering Waves, Solaris-3, is vast and expansive. Travelling on foot can be time-consuming, so learn how to make use of Resonance Beacons and Resonance Nexuses across the world to travel anywhere at a moment's notice!

How to Fast Travel

Improving characters requires spending all sorts of in-game currency like Shell Credits. Make sure to always have enough for your favorites by farming and saving them as needed.

Astrite is the currency needed to be able to pull on the various Convene Banners in Wuthering Waves. Knowing how to keep earning Astrite can help players manage their resources when pulling for Resonators and/or their respective weapons.

The Pioneer Podcast provides additional rewards like materials and Shell Credits to let players spend and use at their leisure. There is a free version and a premium version that can be bought.

Sonance Caskets are scattered all across the world, with varying degress of difficulty in getting them. They are an important resource that can be traded in for important resources.



One of the shops in Jinzhou City asks to trade in the collected Sonance Caskets, and a later reward in its reward ladder includes a Waveband to unlock one of the Resonance Chain nodes for the Rover, as well as the materials needed to Ascend them past level caps.



On reaching certain Union Levels, players will be able to receive special rewards, with one of them being a special 5-star Weapon Selector that players can choose from one specific weapon set!

How to Increase Union Level



Unlocked during Chapter 1 of the Main Story, the Guidebook is the perfect way for players to keep track of various progress. These include the Daily Activities, the progress Milestones, various bosses and challenges players can spend Waveplates on, Training modes for Resonators, and a list of Echoes to hunt.



It is highly encouraged to explore as much of Solaris-3 as possible, as the Pioneer Association will provide special rewards depending on the exploration progress of every region currently present.

Prizes locked behind higher Pioneer Association Levels include more functions becoming available to add to the Utility wheel--like a compass for finding Supply Chests, and a temporary Resonance Beacon!



Uncle Wei in Jinzhou City not only sells weapons and provides a way to craft 3-star and 4-star weapons, they also sell weapon materials for crafting and leveling up weapons!
