"body": "i am happy to see activation's delay on curses.\nPoE 2 brings the \"multiple skills\" gameplay to the forefront, and poe1 style curses are a too obvious and ubiquitous \"30% more damage bonus, press me once every 10 seconds\" buff.Actually with curse on hit rings all characters become witches and warlock by pressing 0 buttons. It's not healthy from a flavor and diversity perspective in poe2.\n\nI am sure investing into activation delay reduction or other skills like Hand of Chayula will be a good option for many builds that actually requires action time, weapon restriction or passive skill investment and this will make curses more healthy in competition with other skills.\nRestrictions provide meaningful choices.",

"body": "I suspect the intention is for curses to just not be used all the time (for most characters, some builds will ofc lean heavily into them), but rather only when needed. As such I don't expect anything like curse on hit rings to exist. Instead we'll fight most mobs without curses, using them only for especially tough rares or bosses.",

"body": "I completely agree, several po2 mechanics demonstrate that we will not run at 100% of the builds' potential at all times, but rather at specific moments/battles."

"body": ">From footage we've seen, the curse activation delay seems to be around 2-2.5 seconds\n\n- osetor7457\n\nI anticipate a LOT of PoE 1 players are gonna be real frustrated with the new curse activation delay lol. Also RIP Sniper's Mark. xD",

{
"body": "Given that Spirit is likely gonna be a precious resource for regular auras (or minions for minion builds), I doubt blasphemy and aura curses will be all that popular. I suspect PoE 2 intends curses to usually not be cast at all enemies, but rather reserved only for especially tough enemies like rares and bosses. Some classes will lean into them sure, but mostly I think they'll just be used more situationally.",

{
"body": "Iirc, \"regular\" auras (determination/grace/discipline/wrath/hatred/anger/etc) won't exist, and the auras that the aurabots get will only apply to allies",

{
"body": "Haven't heard that, but hopefully you're right. Especially for the defensive auras like Determination and Grace, which I've long disliked feeling like I 'should' include in all my builds. Also hopefully one of the curses that also has this problem - Enfeeble - is also either retired or split up so it isn't a catch all for every defensive debuff (except slow, which Temp Chains handles). Overall I hope PoE 2 doesn't have any 'mandatory' feeling buffs or debuffs, like these often feel like in PoE 1."

"body": "> Also RIP Sniper's Mark.\n\nI think some of the curses/marks/auras had to be either removed or reworked. Too many of them were (still are in PoE) a must-have for a lot of builds."
},
{
"body": "I think it will depend on the context. I kind of imagine curses won't be auto-included in builds in the same way as POE1.\n\nIt would be pretty lame if they go through the trouble of giving us all these six links, and then every build is still just using one of those slots for their damage curse. Some might use them, but seems like the barrier to get them applied is higher, and you are giving up more to have it."
}

{
"body": "I assume this is because they want us to use them on bosses/hard rares.\n\nOr perhaps because since curses are powerful, you can probably invest to lower the delay?"

{
"body": "You probably will. With 36 ascendancies you can bet there'll be support for support builds. Albeit I don't know if that'll be part of the early access package we're getting in November, but it should be there by full launch."
