MW3 Multiplayer Tips & Tricks
This is a guide with some tips and tricks i have picked up over the years of playing Call of Duty Multiplayer. These things have helped me at some point during an online game and hopefully will help you too.
Introduction
I am no expert, these are just some tips & tricks i have learnt throughout my years of playing Call of Duty. You may already know alot of these things but this guide is for the people who do not. I hope some of these things are useful.Enjoy!
Tip #1 - Grenade/Flashbang throwing
Alot of players know this as it can be used in quite a few games however for the beginners out there, this is how to throw your grenade a little further.Just before you throw your Grenade, hold shift to run and press space to jump just before releasing your grenade and it should give it a bit more air. This also works with: Throwing Knife, Concussion, Flashbang, Semtex, C4, EMP Grenade and Smoke.
Tip #2 - Reloading
This is not so much a trick as the last one but it can still come in handy. When you kill an enemy, do you have the habit of reloading straight after so you have enough rounds for the next kill? if you know what i am talking about then surely you have been in a situation where this has got you killed.Dont worry about reloading straight away, even using the sleight of hand perk can still result in your death. Kill your enemy. Take cover. Kill again.
Tip #3 - Jump & Kill
Sometimes when you come head to head with another player they jump just before or during shooting you, usually resulting in your death. This is because jumping and moving makes you less accurate and its easier for the player to dodge out the way of your bullets (depending on the weapon used).I would not be surprised is you're reading this and you already know it as it is quite common in the Call of Duty community, but if you have not tried it, i suggest you do.
Tip #4 - Grenade launchers & RPG's
When firing a rifle mounted grenade launcher or a RPG, do NOT aim for the player you are trying to kill. Although hitting them with the grenade will kill them, if you aim for the ground just below where they are standing or even a nearby vehicle then you might have a chance of killing enemies that are standing close by aswell. It is very rare a beginner or even experienced player would aim for the enemy with a grenade laucher anyway, but just in case you do, there you go.
Tip #5 - Silencers
Using a silencer attachment on your gun makes you invisible on the mini map, however, it will decrease your range and nearby enemies may still be able to hear you shooting.I recommend using one on a weapon that can counter act for the loss of range. For instance, using a silencer on the M16A4 is a bad idea, the range will be decreased and the rate of fire can not make up for it.If you use a silencer on the PP90M1 the rate of fire will still almost guarantee a kill. The same goes for any fast firing weapon (submachine guns work best with silencers in my experience).
Tip #6 - Hip-firing & accuracy
Something i have noticed over the years is how some weapons work well at hip firing and others do not, you can generally tell before you have even used a gun wether it is going to be better at this than other weapons.e.g. assault rifles, submachine guns and shotguns are better at hip firing than Light machine guns and sniper rifles (depending on the range of the target). Here are some weapons i would recommend for short to medium range hip firing:M16A4 - shortUMP45 - shortMP7 - mediumACR - mediumMP9 - shortFMG9 - shortP90 - medium(My preference of short to medium range hip firing may be different to yours, bare that in mind)
Tip #7 - Kill Confirmed
This gamemode has died down alot and there are not too many people playing it anymore. If you are able to find a match then here are some tips to help you out.Be careful when picking up tags. Do not run straight for it, chances are someone else has seen it aswell or is waiting for you to collect it, make sure you stay aware when approaching it and keep an eye out for enemies nearby.Use tags as bait. If you see a tag that is not from your kill do not try and get it, you are likely to be killed. Find a spot and wait for an enemy to collect it, it may seem like a long process but you might get a few kills out of it if you re-locate.
Tip #8 - Higher sniper accuracy
If you quickscope or you are just in close combat using a sniper, this tip may come in handy for you. When you zoom in press the shift button to hold your breath, obviously you do this when sniping anyway, but in close combat when accuracy counts and your enemy is moving about, not having a swaying sniper can get you a kill.Alot of people do this and those who do not already now it but beginners may not, so this tip is for the people who need it.
Tip #9 - Strike package
I think this one is quite important, as most experienced MW3 players know, the best killstreak rewards come with the assault package however the support package has its benefits aswell. If you are new to the game i would suggest using the support strike package, it has quite a few benefits and does not reset when you die, choosing the right strike package is essential, if you only have low killstreak rewards then it will not benefit your team at all.The assault strike package comes with the best killstreak rewards. Juggernaught, Attack helicopter, Pave Low, Reaper drone, and AC-130 are all great if you want some extra kills, personally i would go for rewards that are not that hard to get but still get you a few extra kills.Predator missile - 5 killstreakAttack helicopter - 7 killstreakReaper drone - 9 killstreakThese are all 2 kills apart and are not that hard to get, i would recommend this to anyone who averages a good 10 - 15 kills per match.
Tip #10 - Re-locating when camping
There are alot of campers in Call of Duty but there is an easy way to find them if you dont know where they are. When a sniper/camper kills you and you can not see where they are, watch the killcam, alot of people skip the killcam straight away but if you do not know where the enemy is then watch it and see if you can recognize where they are shooting from.If you are the camper, make sure you re-locate after 1 or 2 kills, even if it is moving to the other side of an object just changing your position slightly will stop the enemy from targeting you straight away, if you stay in the same spot, sooner or later you will get killed.
Tip #11 - Care packages
When the enemy team gets a care package i am sure you all know it will be a trap if they do not collect it straight away. However, you are still curios to see if it might actually be real, well i am going to tell you how to check if a care package is a decoy or real.Hang around the care package until you get killed, then watch the killcam, from the enemies view you will see if the care package is a decoy or not. If the care package is black with skulls on it then it is a decoy. If it looks the same as how you see it then it is safe to open it.This is a very handy and simple tip, i found this out by accident and now use it all the time, enjoy.
