"body": "Generally man, games are not designed for plat on your first run...\n\nEspecially From games.\n\nIt seems to me like in worrying about \"missing stuff\" and not \"finishing it by yourself\" you are missing the real joy of these games.\n\nIf you want to do everything a game has, that's cool.... but I don't know why you would seek to do that in one playthrough, From games are not long. \n\nJust play blind, and soak up the world and game. If you want to achievement hunt after that no one would fault you for it.",

"body": "Demons souls involves more micromanaging to plat and so people tend to tell new players to worry about it too much. I did my blind run and decided to make a new character for some of the trophies and it still only took me 4 playthroughs. IMO if you’re the type of person to do 100% on games that’s not too bad"

"body": "You shouldn’t need a walkthrough to complete this game. I think the most paths are easy to follow and the game mostly guides you through a lot of the stuff, as well as the online messages left by players. \n\nThe only levels you’d have problems in is 2-3/2-4 in the tunnels, 3-1 with all of the prisons and doorways to go through, and 5-2, 5-3, because those levels just suck and are the most hated in the game. Leave those for last, they’re horrible.",

"body": "It really depends on atleast two things.\n1, which game are you playing, old or remake.\n2, if you're going to read the list of trophies before hand.\n\nThe original has a pretty easy list of trophies overall, just your usual completion completionist stuff like bosses and weapon upgrades. So you can probably get away with not looking stuff up to a point and be fine once you understand how certain mechanics work. \n\nThe remake has abit more nuance in the trophies involving more unique actions and npc's. It's probably personal preference which list is \"harder\" but don't give up skeleton.",

{
"body": "Yes you can absolutely beat without a guide. This game is a lot easier to progress than From's other games. There is no backtracking/exploration. You just pick an archstone and go forward on a linear path until you meet the boss.\n\nYou are going to miss stuff. But you would miss stuff even if you played with a guide. There is no way to see all the content in one playthrough. This is the kind of game you need to replay several multiple times to see everything.",

{
"body": "I started playing blind. Then when I was maybe halfway through I started making other characters. Once I got to the very end with my main character, I looked stuff up before going to NG+. \n\nIf you're interested in platinum my recommendation would be to not ever consume demon souls to actually get souls. That would be very bad. You can either play through the game multiple times with one character or do what I did and beat it with multiple characters. With my main I got all rings in NG+ and went for miracles (because I'll never use magic). With my mage I still need to hunt down all the spells in NG+. Like others have said you can't get everything in one playthrough.\n\nOne thing nobody tells you about is world and character tendency. If you want to do that blind the randomness is fun but kinda confusing."
},
{
"body": "I reckon without a guide you would do at least 3 play throughs to get the majority of trophy’s..and to just get a feel for the game, not knowing how tendency both character and world work before starting would also affect your chances. \n\nI left day one patch on and coin glitched and still did 5 playthroughs because I forgot to unalive at nexus to keep world tendencies pure white, that’s probably forgetfulness on my part. \n\nI also made the mistake of doing Mephistopheles quest before ally ring which meant I had to do two playthroughs killing phantoms to get back to PWCT, it was actually 3 runs as I got one shotted by Satsuki twice for a double KO which doesn’t register for your PWCT…again lack of concentration on my part more than anything."

{
"body": "You can of curse, but you need to really be concentrated to understand how the world of demon’s souls work."

"body": "So basically you could do what I’m doing. I’m playing it totally blind but not making it a hard rule. What I’m doing is just going through each level and then googling stuff if I get stuck. For example “how do I equip and learn spells” I had to google. Then I found out there was like 4 NPCs just hanging out in the nexus I had no idea about. \n\nAnother example- I was banging my head against the wall trying to finish all of one arc stone at a time, 1-1 1-2 1-3 etc. hit a huge wall. Then googled it and realized you’re really not supposed to finish one whole pillar before moving onto the next, but actually level 1 and/or 2 of each stone first and gaining levels. \n\nAs for trophies - I have no idea what any are and don’t care for now. Same with bloodborne what I did there was just blind play it the first time through and whatever happens happens. I had no idea about different endings and umbilical cords and everything. Once I did the game and dlc and some chalice dungeons and got to ng+ I googled literally everything and did walkthroughs to find stuff I missed the first time, and find trophies to eventually Plat it. I’m gonna do the same for this game\n\nLike the other guy said, these games are pretty hard if not impossible to plat on the first go around. I think you get more out of it just seeing what happens first and then going from there. For me, I’m not really going to focus on or worry about world/character tendency or anything first go around. The only thing I’m actively doing is staying in soul form so I don’t completely botch my first run and make the game harder than it already is, and it is hard. \n\nGenerally I’m being “good” with a normal play through and making sure not to kill any NPCs lol and see what happens. After I’m done I’ll look at guides and better builds etc. for example right now I’m only using a +5 short sword for a weapon with a fireball and bow/crossbow for ranged attacks. I’m positive it’s suboptimal but that’s what I’m doing for now",

I actually just saw a post like “is this game worth trying on ps5 or is it way too hard” and I replied with something like yeah it’s way hard and tedious and I quit bc it was no fun, maybe I’m doing something wrong. Turns out I was, and I picked up the game earlier last week and am LOVING IT"
