Doesn’t take long to get there. In the meantime you can make just a crafting table and storage box wherever you want to fet started. I’ve heard reports of wooden bases getting burned down or exploding so high investment wont come until the stone upgrades later on anyway. It was a long ta-ma-go ;)kaeichi 10 months ago#4You can have more than one pal out at once if the pal has a necklace instead of saddle. Daydream, Dazzi, and Flopie are three examples.www.g4tv.com/videos/21057/sesslers-soapbox-review-to-a-kill/Zeta777 10 months ago#5kaeichi posted... I picked a small plateau with 12-14 trees and 6-8 rock piles. There was also an ore node a fifteen second walk away. You'll be glad for that as it cuts down on the grind aspect. This is especially true once you get access to metal tools. That way you can harvest 400 wood or stone in less than a minute. The base also serves as a fast travel point, so as a secondary concern you might want to space it out a fair distance from the other fast travel points. As the base is leveled up by building the core crafting structures you'll unlock the ability to have multiple bases. At that point it'll be helpful to select a spot much further into the game map, one with new resources. Then there is Gold, the resource for making purchases from Merchants. There is Pal which looks like a bluish-gray cat that will drop Gold when working on the Ranch. This can generate enough supplemental gold to purchase medicines for sick Pals if you haven't located a good spot to harvest Horns for crafting your own medicine. That Pal can, IIRC, be one of the poaching targets locked in a cage outside of the Rayne Syndicate Tower(the one that you're tasked to conquer as the last item of the Tutorial). Each has a couple respawning chests that contain tech manuals which give tech points. You'll need them to buy every tech skill as level 50 doesn't give enough pointswww.g4tv.com/videos/21057/sesslers-soapbox-review-to-a-kill/xF0x 10 months ago#8Don't build boxes, work stations and other stuff that you're going to interact with a lot too close together. It's tempting to save on space and bunch everything up compactly but this will result in you trying to interact with one thing and an adjacent one activating instead sometimes. It will require a much more precise positioning to get the right prompt to appear so spread them apart. You can reset the rot timer if you drop off your food items into another storage with the Y button instead of moving them with the A. I don't know what key it is on PC but on Xbox it's the Y press. I'm pretty sure it's a bug but for now it's exploitable so you can potentially keep your food preserved infinitely as long as you don't forget to reset its timer (a fridge will help with that). If you're trying to catch unique Pal mobs that only show up during base invasions then keep the number of Pals working at the base to a minimum, if there are too many around they will probably defeat the invaders before you get the chance to catch one.Everything will be fire.Itemloop 10 months ago#9Get a chicken or two with work speed +% traits and plop them in a Ranch. The eggs they put out will, once Fried, keep them, you, and a bunch of other Pals fed by themselves. Great anywhere but especially good if there's no nearby berry bushes around your base or if you don't want to bother with plantations.Catching pals are most of the time better than killing and butchering them simply due to three things: You get bonus XP, you can sell off unwanted pals, and the butcher animation takes a long time to complete as opposed to throwing a Sphere and being done with it. Plus you might be pleasantly surprised and get a Pal or two with really good traits. You and all party Pals get XP whenever you craft something. Anything. You can take advantage by cooking a lot of food items at once, for instance. You also get XP by picking up loose items on the ground outside your base, even common wood and stone will give XP.Fill up your weight before Fast Travelling back to your base. Resources respawn over time and you might as well take advantage. In that same vein always carry an axe and a pickaxe with you.[This message was deleted by overused signature memes]SgtSkittlesZZ99 10 months ago#10If you want pals to store food items in a fridge and not a feeder, just fill all the would-be empty feeder slots with foods that don't rot such as cotton candy or honey, even just one in a slot will do. They'll register the feeder as full and default to putting any other foods into the fridge. If you leave repair kits in a box your pals will actually repair structures for you. I've never actually observed them doing it, so I have no idea what skill they need, but if I had to guess it's probably handiwork.BoardsPalworldGameplay tips topic
