"selftext": "the newest sensation in the block is palworld, a pokemon clone with farming and guns. without the guns, we also have monster collection in Rune Factory, and farming is kind of our niche. For those who played the game, do you guys/girls like the game? how is the gameplay? also, I don't have much hope in the interaction with NPC part to be honest, but how is it?",

It's more like a survival game (people usually compare it to Ark) with elements of Pokemon. There is very little farming and you generally don't do any farming yourself.\n\nI do like the game, but it's not similar to farming sims at all",

No real farming cycles, no events other than base raids, no real story at all, really.\n\nHowever, it does have great combat, monster taming, and you can use / ride monsters in a way that does remind of Rune Factory. Exploration is great.\n\nOverall, I would say there are very few similarities between the series. Completely different focuses, both are very fun games. Palworld is much more akin to Pokemon : Legends Arceus, Breath of the Wild, Valheim, or Elden Ring than Rune Factory or cozy games in general."

(Also not interested in the other games currently making the popularity waves like Lethal Company so…) idk, I’ve played enough games to be able to judge what I’ll like based on themes and gameplay regardless of how popular or niche they are. \n\nIf you aren’t sure about your own tastes though there’s nothing wrong with giving it a try!"
