"title": "My review of the mind skill tree (Spoiler free section included)",
"selftext": "Howdy.\n\nJust finished unlocking everything in the mind tree on my playthrough and wanted to leave some feedback, and maybe suggestions on what to get in your playthrough.\n\nFirst, a spoiler free assesment of each tier, so that you can have some info on how interesting each tier is imo.\n\n* T1: Gets you to roughly the same slow mo and telekinesis as in the previous version.\n* T2: Here is where the fun stuff is. It gets you 2 really fun passive and creative skills, and 1 nice upgrade.\n* T3: Really underwhelming and not worth a core IMO. The core is debatably a downgrade, and the skills are a bit too OP and simple. It adds nothing new from 12.0.\n\nAllright and now for a review of each skill.\n\nSPOILERS FROM NOW ON--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n\n>!T1: It really is just previous version slow mo and telekinesis. !<\n\n* >!Telekinesis throw: Lets you throw things with telekinesis when doing a flick of the hand. Really usefull and versatile, without being super OP, must grab.!<\n* >!Telekinesis spin: Lets you spin weapons quickly while telegrabbing them, heli style. Never really got the point of this one, the weapon seems to have no inertia to it and it's really hard to deal any kind of real damage. Grab it for the flavour, and becuase it's real cheap.!<\n* >!Focus recovery from combat actions: Great, I have noticed that I can go into focus and, if being efficient with time, come out of it while still topped up. It seems to work while in slow mo, and also from destroying hector weakpoints.!<\n\n>!T2: Here is where the fun begins. You get hyperfocus, which seems to slow time a lot more than normal focus, but you still move at focus slow mo speeds. This means that you are much faster, but it feels very floaty because it's a greater degree of speed decoupling than in normal focus.!<\n\n* >!Auto hyperfocus on projectile: Amazing, 10/10, super fun and powerfull while not broken levels of OP. Puts you in hyperfocus when a projectile (arrow, flameball), gets close to you from the front. Lets you consistently deflect both, and grabbing arrows from the air will never stop being amazing. Imo, the reason to get the mind tree. Amazing defense, and makes ranged npcs really fun to fight.!<\n* >!Hyperfocus on flying bow draw: Puts you on hyperfocus for free when drawing a bow in the air. Another amazing one, this is what I hope to see more of in the rest of the skill tree. Situational but powerfull and interesting passives that trigger on their own when you do cool sh\\*\\*t. It's kinda hard to aim taking into account both changes in speed when drawing and releasing, but I am sure it's something that can be learned. Very nice, must have for aggresive bow usage.!<\n* >!Extended slow mo: Enemies remain slowed for a bit when running out of focus. Nice, but have never used it. Normal settings give you so much focus that it's just not needed. Will probably be better if one lessens focus recovery in settings. EDIT: Maybe you could combine this with heavy investment in sorcerer gear, that slows focus recovery, and get both good focus and magic?!<\n\n>!T3: Man, what a letdown. This lets you grab enemies like you did in the previous version while having gravity equipped. In my opinion, there was a good reason to have it only work with gravity equipped, because say goodbye to effortestly grabbing weapons with telekinesis if an enemy is on the same postal code. If makes combat loose a lot of fluidity, and you CAN'T refund it. (Outside of save editing). In my opinion, under no circunstances should you get this core. It makes combat less fun, and it's skills are too (boringly) strong.!<\n\n* >!Enemy telekinesis throw: Same as telekinesis throw, but for enemies. Way too strong, you will never be in danger again, since you can instantly defeat anyone from range and in one attack that can't miss. Makes combat loose all tension, knowing that at any point you can fall back to mind killing everyone. Only get it if you don't care about balance. It's a good safety net for a permadeath run.!<\n* >!Telekinesis tear and choke: Gonna put both skills together because honestly, they shoudn't be here. If you have an enemy grabbed with telekinesis, he is essentially already dead. Choking or tearing them appart takes more time and is just for flavour. This should just come with enemy telekinesis, and be something you say \"nice\" when noticing. I see it as two lost skills. Nice for flavour but dissapointed it's not something new. Now that I think of it, T3 mind adds nothing that wasn't in the previous version of the game.!<\n\nOverall, I am really enjoying 1.0, and the (for now) mind only first playthrough has been really fun. T2 mind is amazing and I just hoped they stuck the landing for T3, but as I said, imo, it doesn't add anything new to the game, and it makes combat worse.\n\nCan't wait to try out the other skill trees, have a good day!",

"body": "I would've liked to see something new in tier 3 mind, maybe expanding on hyperfocus a bit more, but it's still absolutely worth getting imo. Tier 3 unlocks are all generally pretty OP for each skill tree, and being able to tear people apart is just as satisfying as always. That's the one ability I've been trying to unlock from the start of my playthrough, I'm happy I picked the correct path to it. \n\nTier 2 projectile dodging is absolutely my favourite unlock I've tried so far though.",
