"body": "It's funny. Right at the start of the game, without many options and any upgrades, Knife is one of the best weapons because you can actually cut through waves in a direction instead of being overwhelmed. Without Knife I'd never have gotten through Holy Forbidden as early as I did.\n\nBut it doesn't scale well compared to the many unlocks. I'd put it at the top of D though, maybe even low C. Except when you play on mobile - then it's not that good due lack of stick/dpad/wasd.\n\nWeapons I'd have rated higher:\n\n**Gorgeous Moon** - it's already pretty high in the list but the utility is incredible - makes you stronger faster compared to the other weapons. Also maybe the strongest character-weapon combo in the game together with a two-weapon Babi-Onna (but one of the hardest to succesfully achieve as well). \nLow S or Highest A for me.\n\n**Carrello** - Low to mid C for me. It scales really well with several stats, esp. area and amount and while the direction makes it less viable in stages with a vertical layout, it's really good in stages with a horizontal layout. And in a neutral stage layout, more often than not you're fine if you focus on two directions, esp. if you pick VIII Mad Groove. I can understand rating it low because of the annoying sound though.\n\n**Thousand Edge** It's really good because of the focused nature. If you've already got good wave clear and want a tool to focus down bosses, it's a great pick (unless you're playing on mobile with crappy controls). Together with Iron Blue Will and some stat-boosting through passives, it's even ok for wave clear. \nI'd rate it top B just under Fuwawoofwoof. Actually, I'd put both in low A.\n\n--------------------------------------------------------------\n\nWeapons I would have rated lower:\n\n**Heaven Sword** Very random aiming and it just doesn't seem to kill stuff in the end game, just splurging a bit across the screen now and then - maybe worse than birds. One the the worst standard evolutions in my book, I'd rate it mid B.",

"body": "Thanks for the thorough feedback! I did reevaluate Gorgeous Moon to be higher, at the top of A Tier. The change was made on the spreadsheet.\n\nCarrello, I can agree it is variable depending on the stage. One of the reasons for the low ranking is due to how difficult (if not impossible) it is for that to be the only weapon you use. I can certainly see how it can enhance an existing weapon pool. I think my attempts at trying to use it as a single weapon really soured my view on it as a whole.\n\nFor Thousand Edge, this might be where evaluating weapons in a vacuum hits a bias, as you said it isn't good at killing large amounts of enemies, but it is definitely good at killing bosses or high health targets. I'm still not sure I would place it higher, not because it isn't good, but because other weapons are better.\n\nI said it in another comment, but Heaven Sword really shines when you make full use of the Waltz of Pearls and Slash Arcana. A similar weapon would be Death Spiral, but during testing Heaven Sword consistently performed better than Death Spiral and many other weapons. It was a surprise for me, because I too had the impression its targeting held it back."

"body": "Heaven Sword attacks the closest enemy before switching directions, just like its base form. It can be played around with, but some weapons like Fire Wand do have a random targeting direction.\n\nThe reason I rank Heaven Sword so high is that it performs really well with the right Arcana.",

{
"body": "I should rephrase that, even without Arcana it does a lot of damage. With Arcana it is within the top 10 highest DPS weapons.\n\nThis guide has a breakdown weapon damage and Arcana: [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3172454086](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3172454086)\n\nHeaven Sword ranges from 580K to 2.2M DPS depending on setup. Most other weapons end up dealing much lower damage than that regardless of Arcana. I will say absolute DPS is not the only factor, but it is a big reason why it is ranked where it is.",
"replies": [
{
"body": "I feel like that DPS range is most likely irrelevant due to the setup. I know you did say \"depending on setup,\" but that range is pretty much irrelevant. I could mention 20 different things that can influence that DPS range to either be higher or lower. I agree that Heaven Sword's base damage is somewhat notable, but I don't think that it's viable for A tier. I think everything else in A tier would most likely give Heaven Sword a run for its money. The only quality that stands out to me is its ability to infinitely pierce enemies.\n\nTo each their own, I guess. I just don't really use Heaven Sword due to the fact that there are other weapons that stand to benefit you way more.",
"replies": [
{
"body": "In the guide I listed, they used the same setup for nearly every evolved weapon. It is all explained in the page. Any Arcana that was beneficial to any weapon was tested. It is certainly not irrelevant. There are flaws, but it the most comprehensive DPS comparison for Vampire Survivors available. That is worth a lot.\n\n580K DPS was with only Boogaloo of Illusions.\n\n2.2M DPS was with Boogaloo of Illusions, Chaos in the Dark Night, Waltz of Pearls, and Slash.\n\nThere were 6 additional Arcana combinations tested for a total of 8 tests for Heaven Sword.\n\nWhat other weapons do you use? You can search for them on that list to see a comparison.",

"body": "EDIT: Check out the updated version here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/VampireSurvivors/comments/1dlxsfc/vampire\\_survivors\\_weapon\\_tier\\_list\\_v\\_1101\\_link\\_to/](https://www.reddit.com/r/VampireSurvivors/comments/1dlxsfc/vampire_survivors_weapon_tier_list_v_1101_link_to/)\n\nThis is the final tier list of mine and boy is it a big one. If you have watched my spreadsheet evolve, you would have seen this coming. Please make sure you read the explanation on the weapons either in the comments below or in the spreadsheet. If there is a weapon you feel I have misjudged, please provide a response on WHY you think so. I have my own biases, but I want to make these with community input in mind. Also make sure you are judging the weapon on its own, as a lot of weapons are carried by being attached to a strong character.\n\nThe spreadsheet is constantly being updated, so refer to it for the most updated information.\n\nGoogle Spreadsheet Link: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GBF7kuzq9PDLiHbXDSHfSLM6xqDqqMYYjBCsRCZcF-A/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GBF7kuzq9PDLiHbXDSHfSLM6xqDqqMYYjBCsRCZcF-A/edit?usp=sharing)\n\nFor weapons I try to weigh how good they are in roughly the following order: effectiveness with and without Limit-Break, effectiveness with best Arcanas, defensive capabilities, additional utility, and passive evolution requirements. For base weapons weight was given to how effective they are as you level them, especially when they are used by themselves. All base weapons were tested several times in isolation using Trouser (an extremely neutral character) on Inverse mode with no eggs. Evolutions were tested using a wide variety of characters, Arcana combinations, by themselves, and in various weapon combination groups.\n\nIn addition this tier list assumes you are using all Power Ups and have everything unlocked. This tier list can still work for newer players, but I would recommend reading up on specific weapons so you know how they work and why.\n\nWeapons are ordered within the tiers themselves. Due to the tier categories being large in some cases, a weapon at the top of a specific tier will almost always be considerably better than one at the bottom of that specific tier.\n\n**Tier Explanations:**\n\n**SS** - Death killers and also just really good on their own\n\n**S - Extremely Powerful:** These are weapons unmatched by most other weapons, especially when Limit Breaking them. These provide high damage, high stats, high defenses, or high utility. Can easily win games when selected on a character.\n\n**A - Powerful:** These are strong weapons that can make any character or build good. These often go well with a lot of other weapons, can synergize well with powerful Arcana, or can push the limits on what your character can do.\n\n**B - Good Evolutions and Strong Base Weapons:** These weapon evolutions still work well in many games, while the base weapons listed here can carry your character in the early game and often evolve into a weapon much stronger.\n\n**C - Good Base Weapons, Subpar Evolutions:** This is where a majority of unevolved weapons land. Unevolved weapons here are good to use and can effectively get you through the early game. Evolved weapons that are here fail to measure up to other evolved weapons and should generally be avoided unless going for specific builds.\n\n**D - Lower Performing Base Weapons:** These weapons just perform on average worse than those in the tier above. They can still be played, but it may make the early game harder.\n\n**F - Extremely Weak and Flawed:** Unless these weapons have good evolutions, don’t bother. These weapons will actively make the game harder due to their lack of kill potential or defensive utility.\n\nGoogle Spreadsheet Link Again: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GBF7kuzq9PDLiHbXDSHfSLM6xqDqqMYYjBCsRCZcF-A/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GBF7kuzq9PDLiHbXDSHfSLM6xqDqqMYYjBCsRCZcF-A/edit?usp=sharing)",

"body": "**SS Tier -----------------------------------------------**\n\n* Infinite Corridor - Along with Crimson Shroud, these weapons are unmatched in what they do to your character. Infinite Corridor freezes everything and takes half their health everytime it triggers. Works well with Out of Bounds. Infinite Corridor is also able to kill intangible beings like Stalkers, Drowners, and Tricksters. One of two weapons designed to kill the Reaper and trigger White Hand.\n* Crimson Shroud - Along with Infinite Corridor, these weapons are unmatched in what they do to your character. Crimson Shroud makes you nearly impossible to kill by capping damage at 10 minus whatever Armor you have. Works well with Divine Bloodline. Crimson Shroud is also able to kill intangible beings like Stalkers, Drowners, and Tricksters. One of two weapons designed to kill the Reaper and trigger White Hand.\n\n**S Tier ------------------------------------------------**\n\n* **Paranormal Scan** \\- The best item to come out of the Emergency Meeting DLC. Increases your character's stats similar to Golden Eggs. It is a support weapon that requires other weapons to be good, but like Golden Eggs has infinite stat scaling potential.\n* **Legionnaire** \\- Strong weapon that when combined with Divine Bloodline, creates a nearly invincible and highly destructive combination. Using Legionnaire in combination with Divine Bloodline can cause the weapon to deal over 10 times its damage than without, being second only to Ophion in terms of damage by the end of a standard run using Limit Break.\n* **Ophion** \\- An instant kill weapon that scales with Luck. Pair with Wicked Seasons to have a weapon capable of doing more damage than even Infinite Corridor. This weapon will outscale every other weapon in the game the longer the game runs. The downside is that it doesn't start out strong if you have low stats and you won't be able to see anything on your screen. You will need Luck and Area to make it really powerful.\n* **Godai Shuffle** \\- Causes five large zones of damage, four in each corner and one in the middle. It deals a massive amount of damage and can cover the screen. Great passives for evolving. Easily one of the best weapons in the game.\n* **SpellStrom** \\- A combination of SpellStrike, SpellStream, and SpellString with a massive damage boost. It has two damage zones that orbit the character and will combine every 22-40 seconds depending on your Cooldown Reduction and deal massive damage to everything on screen. The main downside with this weapon is that you need to have its three base weapons before you can fuse it.\n* **La Borra** \\- Strong weapon that surrounds the character and moves with them providing a nice defensive boost. Be careful with stacking too much Amount and Durability with this weapon, as it can hit the Pool Limit and prevent more damage zones from spawning until the old ones have expired.\n* **Greatest Jubilee** \\- Great damage, large area, summons light sources which spawn items and interact with other weapons and Arcana. The utility of spawning light sources cannot be understated, it is really good.\n* **Super Candybox II Turbo** \\- Can be almost any evolved weapon. Appears only after Candybox has been picked. Multiples can be found from chests with high enough Luck.\n* **Candybox** \\- Can be any base weapon. Higher luck will increase the chance for it to appear. Will appear in chests after you max out your weapon slots and has a small chance to appear in the level up screen. Multiples can be found from chests with high enough Luck.",

"body": "**A Tier --------------------------------------------------**\n\n* **Luminaire** \\- High damage and area, increases the value of experience gems and gold. Can benefit from many Arcana, greatly enhancing its power.\n* **Clear Asteroids** \\- A massive improvement over its base weapon. Deals random area damage across the screen. It can be predicted based on the green crosshair.\n* **Photonstorm** \\- Deals a high amount of damage in multiple horizontal beams. Can quickly fill the screen when Limit Breaking. Not ranked as high as other weapons because it doesn't deal as much focused damage when needed, such as when a boss is on the screen.\n* **Echo Night** \\- Extremely high damage with a large area effect that lingers on the screen. Gives good defensive value as the damage zones can stop enemies from moving towards you.\n* **Sole Solution** \\- Deals increasingly high damage the more enemies you kill, gives your character invincibility during the galaxy screen-wiping animation. Is a gift of Victory Sword, meaning it is received after you already maxed out your other weapons. Unfortunately, Sole Solution only benefits from Might and does not have Limit Break.\n* **Prismatic Missile** \\- One of the best base weapons in the game alongside Gatti Amari. This has extremely high damage, a large area effect, and can benefit from many Arcana like Twilight Requiem, Jail of Crystal, Out of Bounds, and Hear of Fire. With enough Cooldown this can stay up permanently and prevent enemies from touching you.\n* **Gatti Amari** \\- One of the best base weapons in the game alongside Prismatic Missile. It is really bad at the start of a game when your stats are low, but once you get going it is extremely strong. Wicked Seasons is a great Arcana for this due to the Luck bonus and Greatest Jubilee is a nice weapon to pair it with due to increasing the amount of Floor Chicken that can spawn. Definitely read the wiki for this weapon as its mechanics are more complex than most.\n* **Millionaire** \\- Flash Arrow had a Glow Up, this is an extremely big power boost over its base weapon. Gets improved by Iron Blue Will and Slash, as well as deals damage in an area based on the amount of gold picked up. Overall a great weapon, just a shame about what you have to use to get to it.\n* **Gorgeous Moon** \\- Destroys all enemies on the screen periodically with a very telegraphed animation. Its main advantage is that it provides a large amount of experience when it triggers and vacuums all experience gems on the map. This makes it a great utility weapon for those looking to screen clear and gain experience without having to lift a finger. Gorgeous Moon is also able to kill intangible beings like Stalkers, Drowners, and Tricksters.\n* **Phieraggi** \\- Scales with revives, can cover the whole screen and deal a lot of damage. The damage scaling with Revives means that you have to use the Awake Arcana or gain revives through a character passive or Paranormal Scanner to maximize the benefit. This can make this weapon feel like wasting additional passive and Arcana slots, as revives are only useful if you are dying outside of the damage boost for this weapon.\n* **Heaven Sword** \\- Strong damaging weapon that can be paired with the Slash and Waltz of Pearls Aracana.\n* **NO FUTURE** \\- Can deal a lot of damage through its screen bounces. Benefits from Jail of Crystal and Out of Bounds, which can greatly increase its area damage and boost its defensive utility. Can also provide retaliation triggers for Divine Bloodline.\n* **Death Spiral** \\- High damage weapon that fires in all directions. Good with Slash and Iron Blue Will. Has an extremely high pierce value.\n* **Vicious Hunger** \\- Amazing for gold farming, not for normal gameplay unless you are playing Sammy. One of the few weapons that is arguably worse than its base form. While at base it does more damage, It eats experience gems and will significantly slow down leveling.\n* **Tri-Bracelet** \\- Does surprisingly good damage considering how bad its previous stages are. Can benefit from Arcana that its previous stages used.\n* **Vandalier** \\- A union of two of the worst weapons in the game. It is much stronger than Peachone and Ebony Wings, offering high damage and the same familiar aiming mechanics. If you are able to Limit Break it and gain a lot of Area, it can outperform many other stronger weapons.\n* **Crossed Wires** \\- Deal a high amount of damage over an area when the wires connect. Has additional defensive utility from the damaging zones.\n* **Valkyrie Turner** \\- Extremely high damage, but has the same difficult movement mechanic as Shadow Pinion, just a lot more forgiving. Requires Wings to evolve, which can feel like a waste of a Passive Item slot, but it benefits from the speed increase. Grabbing Bracers for the increased Projectile Speed is also recommended as it will allow the non-firing flames to drift away from you faster.\n* **Thunder Loop** \\- Good damage and provides a random spread of targeting, but the damage falls off compared to other weapons in the late game.",

{
"body": "**B Tier -----------------------------------------------**\n\n* **Fuwalafuwaloo** \\- High damage with a lot of healing, but it requires a Hollow Heart to acquire and requires you to constantly move to maximize the benefit.\n* **Rocket Science** \\- Deals a lot of large area damage, but you need to walk over blue buttons to detonate them. Walk over numbered buttons 1-5 to create the large rocket explosion. The mini-game can be distracting and hard to see when there are a lot of other effects occurring.\n* **Unholy Vespers** \\- Good damage and a great defensive weapon, although not a significant improvement over its evolution.\n* **Celestial Voulge** \\- Can be really powerful when paired with freezing weapons and ways to increase Orologion spawns like using Greatest Jubilee. Needs synergy to work well.\n* **Emergency Meeting** \\- Can wipe out a specific enemy type on screen. Depending on what other weapons you have and whatever else is on screen, this is either a good weapon or forgettable one.\n* **J'Odore** \\- A great defensive weapon with decent damage output. Damage can increase a lot by using the Out of Bounds Arcana.\n* **Festive Winds** \\- Moderate damage, heals you and lowers the defenses of enemies. Each hit of Festive Winds adds a stacking debuff of 2% increased damage, up to 10,000%. Unfortunately it needs Pummarola to evolve, which is one of the worst passive items in the game.\n* **Unjust Ejection** \\- Sucks in enemies on the left and right sides of the screen. Decent damage, but distracting visuals. It is best to move away from the side of the screen that is open so you can get more enemies inside it.\n* **Bloody Tear** \\- Good damage and nice healing, but requires Hollow Heart to evolve it. Can be better than Fuwalafuwaloo if you don’t feel like moving a lot.\n* **Santa Water** \\- Great starting weapon that also does decent damage mid game before you evolve it. It drops area effects in a circle around your character. With enough levels and Cooldown you can have a permanent ring protecting your character. Works well with Tragic Princess.\n* **SpellStrike** \\- Damage scales with Might, a good basic weapon. Deals a lot of damage in an area at the nearest enemies which can quickly create a ring of damage that enemies cannot pass. Is the best of the trio of \"Spell\" weapons.\n* **Thousand Edge** \\- Good damage, but covers a small Area and requires facing towards the target. Works extremely well with Iron Blue Will and Slash.\n* **Victory Sword** \\- Deals high damage, but only attacks close up early on. Deals retaliation damage and gets a flat damage increase from Divine Bloodline. Also can get boosted by Slash. Victory Sword is also able to kill intangible beings like Stalkers, Drowners, and Tricksters.\n* **Mannajja** \\- Trades a larger Area for a long Cooldown when evolved from Song of Mana, both function similarly. Works well with Blood Astronomia.\n* **Anima of Mortaccio** \\- Acts similar to Bone. Not a major improvement over its base weapon. Is limited to the character Mortaccio.\n* **Hellfire** \\- High damage, but random targeting. Gets a large damage boost when using Heart of Fire and Waltz of Pearls.\n* **Song of Mana** \\- One of the best early game and base weapons you can have. It isn't improved much by its evolution, but it gives you a nice start if you grab it early and is better than some evolutions. Works well with Blood Astronomia.\n* **La Robba** \\- The best scaling of the Merchant/non-evolving projectile weapons. While it is fairly unimpressive starting out, once you get a lot of stats and Limit Break, it can quickly become really powerful as the furniture can get extremely large and wedge itself between hordes of enemies dealing high amounts of damage.\n* **Ashes of Muspell** \\- Starts with low weapon damage, but gets stronger the more enemies you kill.\n* **Holy Wand** \\- Has a really good passive needed to evolve, but otherwise this weapon isn't that strong.\n* **Four Seasons** \\- High damage, large area that targets the corners of the screen. A great base weapon, but make sure you pair it with a weapon that can target the center because it moves to the edges of the screen as it levels up leaving your character vulnerable.\n* **Profusione D'Amore** \\- Acts similar to Celestial Dustling, but is not a major improvement over its base weapon. Is limited to the character O'Sole.\n* **Yatta Daikarin** \\- Acts similar to Cherry Bomb, not a major improvement over its base weapon. Is limited to the character Cavallo.\n* **Summon Night** \\- Good damage weapon that leaves vertical damaging zones at the top of the screen. As you level it up and get passive items it quickly damages much of the screen.\n* **Phas3r** \\- High damage weapon that attacks randomly, but can quickly begin to damage everything on screen and push enemies far away from you.\n* **Soul Eater** \\- Good damage, but requires Pummarola to evolve, one of the worst passive items in the game. Healing at max health doesn't count toward healing damage conversion, so you have to make sure you take damage somehow. Best used with characters that have good Recovery that can intentionally take damage to boost its power.\n* **King Bible** \\- Good starting weapon that can provide protection for your character. If paired with Garlic, it provides a great aura of defense, but King Bible is still good enough on its own.\n* **108 Bocce** \\- Becomes stronger with the difference between Curse and Luck, you need to focus on maxing out the difference to get the most benefit from this. Otherwise it has decent damage and acts like a more powerful Garlic.",

{
"body": "**C Tier ------------------------------------------------------**\n\n* **Muramasa** \\- Does good damage especially when paired with Slash, but has poor range. Can synergize with builds that require taking damage. This weapon has a big downside in that it scales with max health, so using it with Divine Bloodline may end up killing the player.\n* **Impostongue** \\- A high damage focus type weapon that targets the strongest on-screen enemy. Deals inconsistently high damage due to the targeting mechanic and has a very small Area size.\n* **Silver Wind** \\- Okay damage weapon that provides a lot of healing and attacks horizontally. Pairs well with Sarabande of healing.\n* **Glass Fandango** \\- A high damage directional weapon that is boosted against frozen enemies. While moving it concentrates attack in one direction, while not moving it attacks in random directions for less damage.\n* **Science Rocks** \\- Deals high damage and has a large area, but you need to run over rocks to trigger the effect. This can be both good and bad, as you have control over when the damage goes out, but the rocks can sometimes spawn in bad positions. Gets a Mini Scientist passive item that has Santa Water.\n* **Phiera Der Tuphello** \\- Simple weapon with good damage. Works well with Gemini and Heart of Fire. Will often out-damage Eight of Sparrow due to firing first.\n* **Eight The Sparrow** \\- Simple weapon with good damage. Works well with Gemini, Jail of Crystal, and Out of Bounds.\n* **Bi-Bracelet** \\- Low damage for an evolution. Benefits from Twilight Requiem and Jail of Crystal+Out of Bounds.\n* **Mirage Robe** \\- Decent defensive weapon that can become offensive when using the Out of Bounds Arcana.\n* **Boo Roo Boolle** \\- Targets the closest enemy, the bubbles linger on the edges of the screen. Low damage for an evolution and requires Spellbinder to evolve.\n* **Celestial Dusting** \\- Requires your character to move to be good, has a chance of healing you at max weapon level. Can be used defensively by moving in a circle.\n* **Cross** \\- Deals good damage and attacks the closest enemy before it spins in the opposite direction. Grabbing the Waltz of Pearls Arcana can allow it to bounce and damage many enemies across the screen.\n* **SpellString** \\- Damage scales with Projectile Speed, decent basic weapon. Attacks the closest enemy similar to Magic Wand, but stronger.\n* **Bone** \\- Deals moderate damage and bounces off walls and enemies.\n* **Cherry Bomb** \\- Moderate damage, chance to explode that scales with Luck.\n* **Sharp Tongue** \\- Good damage and targeting. Prioritizes targets in front of the character. Gets a Mini Imposter passive item that has Knife.\n* **Eskizzibur** \\- Decent weapon that really shines when paired with Divine Bloodline.\n* **Report!** \\- Deals high directional area damage and has a nice knockback, however it only attacks the area immediately in front of your character in a cone pattern. To maximize use, you would have to frequently switch directions, which can make this difficult to use. Gets a Mini Crewmate passive item that has Garlic.\n* **Garlic** \\- It is great for the early levels and helping new players, but falls off in damage hard as you level making it feel like a wasted slot. If starting out it is great to pair with King Bible as King Bible will hover outside the range of Garlic.\n* **Runetracer** \\- Good damage, but not a lot of defensive ability. With the right combination of Arcana it can be extremely strong.\n* **Clock Lancet** \\- Has really good defensive utility, but can be weak if this is one of your only weapons. Pairs well with Out of Bounds. Evolves into Infinite Corridor.\n* **Laurel** \\- An invincibility shield, really good early on and can make characters with high Cooldown Reduction effectively invincible. Evolves into Crimson Shroud.\n* **Shadow Servant** \\- Can deal decent damage. Starts off weak, but becomes a lot better the more levels and passives you get. Can benefit from Gemini. Evolves into one of the best weapons in the game, Ophion.\n* **Lightning Ring** \\- Okay starting weapon, can deal a lot of damage, but requires passives and levels to be good.\n* **Pentagram** \\- Use with caution. It can be a great weapon if leveled up quickly and you have a lot of luck. If not it will erase gems and chests. The big downside is that when you screen clear enemies, a large wave of them will respawn again which can overwhelm less prepared players.\n* **Mazo Familiar** \\- Damage isn't that high, but scales with max health. More bats than the base version, but it still doesn't kill things quick enough. Requires Hollow Heart, a bad passive item, to evolve. One of the worst evolution weapons in the game.\n* **Flames of Misspell** \\- Acts like the Nduja Fritta Tanto. This weapon has low damage at low levels.\n* **Whip** \\- The first weapon you get to use in game. It attacks in a predictable horizontal pattern that leaves the bottom of your character exposed. Deals average damage. It will quickly be a weapon you outgrow, but it works.\n* **Lifesign Scan** \\- Provides a pulse of healing that heals every player in range. Works well in multiplayer. Can pair well with Sarabande of healing. The real benefit of this is its evolution Paranormal Scanner, which can greatly enhance any run with the amount of stats it provides. Gets a Mini Ghost passive item that has Clock Lancet.\n* **Shadow Pinion** \\- The weapon deals a lot of damage, however the movement requirements make it difficult to use and work well with other weapons. Can be used defensively by running in a circle and not allowing pinions to fire. Recommended to grab the Bracers for Projectile Speed if running in circles as it will allow the pinions to drift away from you. If you know how to use it, it is really good, if not then it will end up killing you.",

"body": "**D Tier --------------------------------------------**\n\n* **Magic Wand** \\- Can be decent to start out with, but it quickly falls behind other weapons. Targets the enemy closest to the player, which is really good.\n* **Night Sword** \\- Can be used with Divine Bloodline and boosted by Slash, but its close range damage and luck based healing is not good at the start of a game.\n* **Axe** \\- High damage for a base weapon, throws in an arch pattern in the direction your character is facing. Due to the attack pattern it can be really hard to defend using this weapon as it leaves you exposed below and behind your character.\n* **Knife** \\- Deals focused damage in a small area in front of your character. Is really weak at the start, but once it gains additional Pierce it can become pretty good. Works well with Iron Blue Will and Slash.\n* **Lucky Swipe** \\- Good damage, but really low cooldown and awkward positioning. Works better the lower luck you have. Gets a Mini Engineer passive item that has the Lightning Ring.\n* **Vento Sacro** \\- It is a horizontal damage weapon that increases damage the more you move. As soon as you stop moving you lose the damage buff. The damage starts out low and it has a small range, so having to constantly move may just end up placing your character in danger.\n* **Hats** \\- The hats do moderate damage and can sometimes cause a big knockback effect. Bad against large groups of enemies. Despite not evolving, it gets the Mini-Horse passive item which has Greatest Jubilee.\n* **SpellStream** \\- Damage scales with Area. It attacks slowly and in a wave at the nearest enemy. Starts out really underwhelming, but gets better with levels and stats. Worst of the \"Spell\" weapons, but all three are required to evolve into Spellstrom.\n* **Fire Wand** \\- Provides okay focused damage, but hits only a few targets and attacks in random directions. Requires Heart of Fire to be good and survive if you start with this weapon.\n* **Party Popper** \\- Attacks in an arch pattern and the projectiles bound off the bottom of the screen when they land. Projectiles individually deal good damage, but there are not enough of them and it fires too slowly. Can work with Gemini.\n* **Peachone** \\- The birds can be a pain on their own, but can be improved by Gemini and Twilight Requiem. Their damage isn't bad, but their targeting mechanic and low cooldown make it hard to kill large amounts of enemies.\n* **Ebony Wings** \\- The birds can be a pain on their own, but can be improved by Gemini and Twilight Requiem. Their damage isn't bad, but their targeting mechanic and low cooldown make it hard to kill large amounts of enemies.\n* **Flash Arrow** \\- High damage for a base weapon, but it has an extremely small area, long cooldown, and attacks in the direction you last moved. Needs the Iron Blue Will Arcana if you start with this or pick it early, otherwise you'll have a near impossible time holding enemies back.\n\n**F Tier -----------------------------------------------**\n\n* **Mille Bolle Blu** \\- Low damage weapon, but it has an evolution, unlike the other projectile Merchant weapons. Fires damaging bubbles that have a slight pushback and stay on the ground. With enough Cooldown they can stack and produce a nice defensive area.\n* **Bracelet** \\- Extremely low damage. Its one saving grace is that it doesn't require passives to evolve.\n* **Carréllo** \\- Moderate damage, but no defensive capability and attacks in a small horizontal line\n* **Clear Debris** \\- Has low damage, a long cooldown, and seemingly targets the screen at random. It cannot kill fast enough to have your character survive without additional support from other weapons. Gets a Mini Guardian passive item that has Laurel.\n* **Pako Battiliar** \\- Not a good weapon. The attack direction is random and the bats push stuff back more than they kill. They only appear when you are hit and spawn from the edges of the screen which isn't helpful in keeping enemies off you. This weapon should only be used with other weapons, as it cannot work on its own.\n* **Just Vent** \\- Instantly kills enemies, but does so at such a slow pace that it ends up being incredibly weak overall. Needs to be used with another weapon or specific Arcana to survive if your character starts with this or picks it up early. Gets a Mini Shapeshifter passive item that has Bone."

Once you are in a good place you can start firing the pinions again by stopping, then if you start to get damaged again you go back to running in a circle. "replies": [
{
"body": "I would argue that survivability/mobility factors assuming 0 eggs are pretty important for the large majority of the game until power ups are maxed, and even though Thousand Edge has good killing potential, it’s area is quite limited when comparing it to something like Hellfire. Even it’s boss-killing effectiveness is hampered because you have to be physically looking at the enemy to damage it, which typically cannot last for long before you need to re-position.\n\nPersonally, I haven’t seen La Robba to better than something like the bone, only different in the fact that you have more dps output towards the top half of the screen. I would place it somewhere in the upper third of C tier\n\nFor a good portion of the game, there are a lot of barriers in terms of levels that are too difficult to complete, whether that be because of the level or the modifiers active, so survivability still remains relevant, and the lancet has clutched up single-handed so many times to allow me to survive much longer than I initially would have. After 3-4 level ups and maybe paired with cooldown and duration as a plus, you can almost walk around undisturbed provided you follow the lancet’s bursts. It becomes more effective with the more enemies on the screen, which is conveniently when you’re most likely to die. The frozen enemies serve as a really good barrier to protect you from hostile ones.\n\nSource: Bro trust"

"body": "Great tier list, agree with almost everything here. The one thing I'm confused about it why everyone rates thunder loop so high. It's one of my favorite weapons, so it pains me to say that its dmg compared to a lot of weapons is really low, even when paired with good synergy from arcanas. I'd even say that with divine bloodline and a lot of armor, thunder ring is better than its evolution. If anyone can tell me why thunder loop is so high on the list, i would appreciate it. Thanks!",

"body": "Thunder Loop is roughly placed in the middle of all evolution weapons, if you want to look at it that way. Thunder Loop requiring Duplicator to evolve as well as the simple attack mechanism are also worth considering. It doesn't scale as well as other weapons, but in terms of performance it isn't terrible.\n\nDivine Bloodline can also make a lot of those base weapons, and in fact all weapon, look good, because it is overpowered. The scenario where you both get a lot of armor and somehow keep Lightning Ring from evolving also seems highly specific, because you often want to grab Duplicator anyway.\n\nEdit: Duplicator not Empty Tomb",
"replies": [
{
"body": "You are correct, i was mistaken to compare thunder loop with the base weapons with divine bloodline. \n\nIsn't the passive item for Thunder loop duplicator? Which is also a great item, so i understand the argument. However, if you get a weapon like laurel or greatest jubilee, you have a passive spot left free for Duplicator.\n\nI also, don't think going by the guide you left is accurate for a real in-game run. Thunder loop is between Tribracelet (a weapon i've had a lot more dmg at the end of the run) and Soul Eater (a weapon that isn't used for dmg in builds with multiple weapons). Maybe it's the fact that, in builds with more weapons, Thunder loop simply can't dmg monsters fast enough so it falls short the more the game progresses. I feel like you can't only take into consideration the dps of a single-weapon build with bungaloo of illusions. You also have to take into account synergy with other weapons, survivability, etc. I would probably switch Thunder loop with Unholy vespers (Unholy Vespers always outdmgs Thunder loop in my games, even when TL is paird with good arcanas). I would also put Gorgeous moon in S, but i can understand it being in A. These would be most of the changes. Great tierlist. Let me know what you think!",

I have around 6 teats using it in multi weapon builds already that support your claim that it does worse when with other weapons. I'll probably move it down in the tier list (on the Google sheet) and make other shifts to weapons near it after doing some more runs with it."

Lightning Ring barely does more, even with +250 base damage from Divine Bloodline.\r \n\r \nNo Limit Break with Megalo Menya and with Divine Bloodline, Thunder Loop did 26% more damage. 851.9K DPS vs. 677.3K DPS.\r \n\r \nLimit Break Megalo Menya (no Divine Blood) with Silent Old Sanctuary, Thunder Loop did 73% more damage, 8.3M vs. 4.8M.",

"body": "Thanks for trying it out. I did too, and the results i got were similar. Thunder loop out damaged Thunder ring, not by much, most of the time. So i guess evolving it is worth, but unfortunately the best option is to avoid thunder ring and thunder loop altogether and get a support weapon such as Soul Stealer or Mannaja. I've tried a lot of builds to try and make Thunder Loop as good as possible and it always gets out damaged. I think the developer should make some changes to some of the old weapons. Thunder loop should either do more damage with the first or second contact, or make the second contact into damaging zones which remain on the ground for a couple of seconds. Unholy vespers is another weapon i think should be buffed with a simple change that lets the projectiles get bigger with area (right now, only the circle get bigger, not the projectiles themselves). Hellfire also falls short most of the time, if the projectiles left a path of fire similar to Valkyrie Turner, it might get better.\n\nFor the sake of this tier list i feel like Thunder loop should be somewhere near Hellfire, since they are both lacking. Altho Hellfire might be better if you pick arcanas with good synergy and keep maxing might.\n\nAnother change i would make to the list would be moving clock lancet one tier up. The damage with Out if Bounds is pretty good for a base weapon, and lets not forget the freeze. With clock lancet alone and a lot of cooldown, no enemy is touching you.\n\nBut like i said before, great tier list. I would be interested in seeing what builds you prefer in a similar format, like a builds tier list. I think that would spark a lot of discussion and would give ideas to many players"

It now causes retaliatory damage when a charge is used, the explosion creates a few shockwaves and a circle with colors inverted centered slightly above the character. Additionally, all incoming damage is capped at 10.\n\n\nDespite lacking Base Damage, it deals retaliatory damage with the Base Damage being the damage dealt to you, capping at 100 damage received. The value is not reduced by Armor or Crimson Shroud's ability. It is then multiplied by Might and Curse, and each Armor point also increases the damage by 10% additively. Area increases the size of the explosion. Cooldown still recharges the shields faster. Amount creates more explosions. This retaliatory damage also does extra damage to the Reaper equal to 1% of its max health, killing it within a reasonable amount of time.\n\n\nCrimson Shroud can attack and defeat the otherwise intangible Stalkers, Drowners, and Tricksters in Dairy Plant, Gallo Tower, Cappella Magna, and The Bone Zone before minute 30, causing them to drop chests.\n\n\nArcana\nSelecting Divine Bloodline (IX) Arcana increases Max Health by 0.5 when enemies are killed with retaliatory damage."
